Catification

This is defined as making changes and adjustment to your homes that meet the needs of both you and your cat. Cats need to have appropriate areas to exercise, scratch, mark, sleep, play and hide. By adding necessary enrichment products, it helps to satisfy your cat's natural behaviour. Here are some of the things you can add to your homes:

  • Cat Trees - Cat trees are one way that allows your cat to sharpen its claws and a place to climb. Cats love to be at high places and this provides them a safe space to do so. For more information on cat trees, you can visit The Fluffy Kitty

  • Scratching Surfaces - Scratching mats, boards and poles take up less space than cat trees but still allow cats to scratch, sharpen their claws and mark their territory. If such products are not available for your cats, they might turn to your furniture for such activities.

  • Bridges and Platform - Cats love being in elevated places. Often, you can find them at the highest points in the room.  This is because it provides them with a sense of comfort and safety. Having bridges and platforms around the house will allow your cat to observe and explore its surrounding while taking up little space in your home
